As a child, I remember taking charcoal pills whenever I had bellyache or listening to my holistic practicing Aunts, whom preach the good words of using charcoal, for instance, using it brushing my teeth! I did not value charcoal as much than, but I have learned that Charcoal powder is awesome, one product, so many uses. It is not only known to attract but rid impurities and toxins from the body. Here are 3 ways I most frequently use charcoal powder for…

Warning! This DIY can get messy! Do not use metal objects when using charcoal powder because it may attract toxins.

Face Mask

The powder acts as a cleanser that penetrates and clarifies the skin, which helps promote healthy and radiant complexion. Mix 1 tablespoon of charcoal powder with 1 tablespoon of water. Add water slowly to powder, stir till it reaches a pudding consistency like texture. Leave mask on for about 10 minutes. Rinse off with water. Use mask once a week.

Teeth Whitening

Charcoal powder can help lighten stains from drinks and food and it will not adsorb materials in the tooth enamel, which keeps it safe to use.

Mix ½ teaspoon of activated charcoal powder to ½ teaspoon of water. Dip a toothbrush into the paste, gently brush teeth for about 2 minutes and rinse. Adding a drop of peppermint or spearmint essential oil to the mix for refreshing aftertaste. Use daily.

Detoxification Of The Body

Charcoal powder can help detox the body of impurities. I find it especially useful after a day of cheat meals, as it aids digestion and reduce stomach discomfort like bloating. Mix 1 tablespoon of charcoal powder to a glass of water. I drink this daily in the morning after my glass of warm lemon water.
