HOW TO CREATE A GALLERY WAL WITHOUT USING A MEASURING TAPE
I am not sure if I can explain a theory or methodology to my madness on how to create a gallery wall without a measuring tape ππΌοΈπ. But this is how I do it π€ππΌ
1. Look at the back of the artwork and estimate the highest point of where the artwork might be hung from π
.
2. Eyeball the placement of where you wish to put your artwork ππ.
3. Double check the estimated artwork placement π§.
4. Say a quick prayer ππΌ.
5. Hammer the nail into the wall π¨.
6. Hang the artwork and hope the eyeballed measurements all worked out πΌοΈπ€πΌπ€πΌπ€πΌ.
No math or fussing with a measuring tape π
. It relatively simple, just takes lots of trust and faith to get done βοΈπ€β₯οΈ.
Building a Gallery Wall πΌπ¨
Gallery walls are like puzzles . They take time to build - 3 nights of shuffling. Figuring where to begin and to end . What pieces of artworks goes with what . Most importantly, finding the right balance and knowing when the wall is βdoneβ. Or will it ever be done
Creating a gallery wall, Part 2 πΌπͺβπΌ.
I always keep in mind π , especially working on a big wall.
π¨Start with your biggest piece of artwork. That will allow you to have a better idea or view of how much wall space it will be taking up.
π¨ Create balance with contrast. Have a mix of horizontal and vertical artworks. That will help create visual interest.
π¨ Play with shapes. Donβt restrict the wall with only artworks. Different objects help create texture and dimensions.
Remember, have FUN and PLAY π. There isnβt any right or wrong, experimenting is part of the creative process. ββοΈββοΈ
